ISLAND PARK VILLAGE HALL

A TREASURED FUTURE

DONATE

Create Neighborly Social Spirit

It is our vision to preserve, restore and revitalize Island Park Village Hall and remain true to its original purpose. Historic Island Park Village Hall will become the heart of our community, a central gathering point for community events, big and small. It will be a part of everyone’s life and build neighborly social spirit.

The Center of Community

Mound residents will visit Island Park Village Hall for meetings, to hear guest speakers talk about community events, for potluck dinners, hear politicians give their pitches for votes, and to attend the firemen's dance. At Christmas Santa will come wearing rubber fireman’s boots with his red costume. Church services will be held here, and  upstairs in the loft, Sunday school classes will once again be told.
There will be weddings, birthdays, reunions, funerals, confirmation classes. Prized local civic organizations will meet, promote and fundraise. Small businesses like yoga, dog training, and tutoring, will set-up and thrive. Clubs of all types, for all ages, will find home here.
We will leverage adjacent Swensen park to create greater community events. The iconic event, “Island Park Firemen’s Field Days,” will be held the first weekend in August. There will be other summer events and ice cream socials. In the winter, Village Hall will be the warming house for Mound's NEW Winter Festival.
Creating a center of connectivity, creativity, and common purpose.

Building Community Pride

Through communication, collaboration, and a series of achievements that brings a sense of belonging to homeowner, the restoration and revitalization of Island Park Village Hall will build community pride.

Where there is a high level of community pride, communities report a much more voluntary compliance with the governing practices. Additionally, we cannot overlook the added benefit of anticipated improvements to adjacent city property and buildings, and boosted property values.
The Island Park Village Hall will once again become the center of community pride, and envy of neighboring towns and cities.
